A Hit That’s Transformator-ing the Box Office

Summer is the season of big, honkin’ blockbusters and Transformators is no exception. Unlike last week’s pick, 20,000 Leagues Over the Sea, this is one rip-roarin’ adventure that had this cat on the edge of my kitty tower. For once, Scratcher and I were in complete agreement. Why? Read on!

After watching Transformators, when the lights went up in the movie theater, Scratcher leaned back in his seat with a grin. Now, he’s not the type to enjoy robot movies, he told me himself when last summer’s hit, Robo-Police came out. Still, this robot movie seemed to make him grin.

“What’s different about this one?” I wondered aloud.

“This one has a higher purpose. These robots, they’re doing good. They want to find the Energy, keep it away from the enemy and make a new world for themselves. What’s cooler than that?”

While I didn’t really enjoy the robot antics – I prefer cats starring in my movies, not computer animations – Scratcher’s enthusiasm caught on with me. These robots were fighting the good fight, battling evil, making a new life. As Scratcher put it, what’s cooler than that?

Apparently, I’m not the only Cool Cat who thinks so. Transformators was a hit at the box office this weekend, easily slipping into the number one slot. I think we’ve got a major robot action hit on our hands and, this time, I’m rooting for the robots!
