Broadway Baby Burned by Cast List

The cast list for “Extravaganza” went up on the Great White Way this week and Liza Garland, a singer, dancer and actor who’s been trying to her the lead in the musical for years, was disappointed again! Her friends call her Broadway Baby – that’s how much she dreams of stardom on the musical theatre stage.

This week, those dreams will have to last a little longer. She was cast in “Enchanted” as Dancer #5. Ouch!

“It’s okay,” Liza says outside the stage door of the Tappers Theatre. “There’s nothing I can do but strap on my shoes and keep going! I’ll get that lead, I know I will.”

The Gossip Queen, for one, wishes her all the luck in the world. “Are you going to go sulk into a tub of ice cream?” I asked her.

“Not at all!” She strapped on her tap shoes and did a little dance right there on the street. “Tomorrow is another day and another day means another audition! I love it!”
