How to Stay Safe In Chat
September 8, 2009
HandiLand now offers Safe Chat for those users whose parents allow them to interact with other cats and type their own chat. This is great news — cats who have wanted this feature for a long time will be happy!
It’s also great news for parents that we’ve got filters in place to make sure cats don’t say anything mean or give away personal information. Even so, there are always precautions you can take to be even more safe than you already are.
Here’s how to stay safe in chat:
- Never give your name, school, address, phone number or email address out over chat.
- Never talk or respond to anyone who is asking personal questions.
- Don’t fight, be mean, swear or curse… You will be banned.
- If anyone is ever being mean to you or asking personal questions in chat, do not respond to them, take down their username and report them to our support department.
It’s our job to keep you as safe as possible in HandiLand but you should know how to look out for yourself, as well. Have a fun, safe and entertaining experience using Safe Chat in HandiLand!
