Totally Tomboy, er, Tomcat

Sometimes we worry that an emphasis on fashion and the catwalk makes us look for totally girly girl Cool Cats who have runway-ready and glamorous looks. But not everyone is totally into looking prissy and prim. There are tons of girls who love being a tomboy and dressing in a more comfy, casual style. Shooshoo is just such a cat. She’s got relaxed pants and fun elephant feet and a cute red and white sweater, but just from looking at her, you’d guess she could be either a girl or boy cat.

The only tipoff are the pretty pink bows around her ears, which keep just a small whisper of girly. And you know what? We dig the outfit. Summer is right around the corner. This is an outfit you can take to the park, on the hiking trail and to ride bikes with your friends. The pretty dresses and super glamorous tresses have a place, but it’s good to know that there are dressed-down Cool Cats out there who are true to themselves.

New Games: Flower Power, Candy Shop Scramble and Cookie Factory

There are a bunch of new games available in HandiLand. The first two can be found in the mall: Candy Shop Scramble can be found in front of the candy shop at the HandiLand Mall, and Cookie Factory can be found at the cookie cart across the mall. Flower Power, a super-fun game of shooting flowers with water, however, can be found throughout HandiLand. Where, exactly? Wherever there’s a flower, of course. See if you can’t find it today!

How to Navigate in HandiLand, New and Improved

If you’ve been in HandiLand recently, you’ve no doubt noticed the new mousevover effects we’ve introduced. These little guys are called tooltips and, we hope, they make our special features and functions more noticeable when you’re moving your mouse around the world. We’ve got several tooltips, including doors to signify that clicking on that pink square will transport you to a different room, sneakers, which indicate a clothing catalog, and an old-fashioned joystick to indicate games.

These appear whenever you put your mouse over any pink squares, just to give you a little hint at what’s underneath. Try them out today. Maybe you’ll find some fun hidden features you never knew existed!

HouseHunt: H3x

This week, we’ve got a very exciting house to share with you, a house created by Cool Cat H3x. What we especially love about this house is the theme that runs throughout it. H3x has really shown her personality with her creation, and one way she expresses herself is flowers. There are flowers in her main room, above, and in many others. See if you can spot them all.

This is a room she can use for when Cool Cats come over and need a place to stay. This is the perfect clubhouse or hideaway, with its rustic wood but cool, alien window touches.

Spotted the flowers yet? This whole room is called “I love flowers!” and it really shows.

H3x also displays her love for the Jonas Brothers because this room, designed just for rock stars, is called the Jonas Room. I can see all of the Jonas Brothers hanging out here and having an awesome time!

This weekend is Memorial Day Weekend in America. Memorial Day is a holiday that celebrates all the people who have fought and given the ultimate sacrifice in wartime. Frosty the Snow Queen

In some parts of the world, snow is still laying on the ground. As we careen towards summer, in fact, half of the world — the southern hemisphere — is moving from fall to winter! That’s where isabell house must be from, because her costume is still very much frosty and cool. However, there are little bits of brightness peeking through with the pink sash on her pageant dress.

The blues and pinks and whites go very well here. If she wasn’t wearing the Icicle Queen crown, we’d guess she was working in a nursey full of little baby kittens with all those boy and girl colors!

Geektastic!

Mslovelace, a favorite of ours here at Cool Cats Magazine, has put together this delightfully geeky outfit, just in time for summer reading! Was that a collective groan I heard from all of you? Well, good news. Being geektastic isn’t just for the nerds at school. This library-bound cat is almost chic with the argyle pattern, monocle and center-parted hair.

And there are a lot of very cool books out there right now, so being geektastic about reading is pretty awesome, as far as we’re concenred here at Handipoints. Why don’t you add the librarian’s books to your costume? In fact, if we see you out and about in HandiLand with the librarian’s books in your hand, we just might feature you on the Catwalk!

HouseHunt: HoneysuckleRose

There’s nothing sweeter than honey… or HoneysuckleRose, that is. With this cute and charming Cool Cat’s house, we’ve got a light and airy main room with a lot of places to sit and relax. The polkadot party wallpaper just adds to the appeal. We’ve also got lots of rooms that share the same simple charm like:

The kitchen! From the cute cherry-top table and blue chairs to the hot cocoa machine, this is just the kind of kitchen where you’d welcome all your friends, the kind where you can almost smell the wholesome apple pie cooling on the windowsill. We’ve also got something a little more hip:

The Fashion Room, where HoneysuckleRose comes to try on new outfits, store her clothes, stash her ice skates and have sleepovers. Overall, this house is cozy, casual, comfortable and very, very cute. This week, we’ve got a delightful house by MagicPretzel, who really tore out all the creative stops. The room above is pleasant enough, but wait until you see MagicPretzel’s other room! There is a restaurant:

Look at how wonderful this restaurant is! We have a fountain in the middle and actual booths (made from couches and tables) on all sides. I know I’d love to have a meal here. We’ve also got another theme room:

A Honeymoon Suite! This room is complete from the wonderful fountain to the valentine furniture to the music, which MagicPretzel picked out: First Kiss. How To Get Animals

If you’ve seen animals walking around side by side with cats, that’s because those cats have bought those animals from clothing catalogs or traded for them. The last catalog to have tons of animals in it was the Winter catalog that… hint hint… still exists somewhere, hidden within the world.

To get an animal, all you have to do is find this catalog or trade for it. If you’re a member of the Cool Cats Club, you can simply find a costume that features and animal and click “Buy” to purchase a new playpet for your cat. If you’re not a member, try and trade something cool of yours for an animal that someone else has.

Now, about this secret catalog, I can’t give you another hint, so try not to read into it.
