The Masked Maurader

As you very well know, those of you who have been reading the Catwalk column for a long time, (and why wouldn’t you?!) boy costumes are hard to come by. We see a lot of pretty similar ideas. This one, from Cool Cat BBall cat really stands out to us. I think it has something to do with the Pirate jacket… our editors have had a thing for pirates recently.

What we really like about this costume is that it’s got all sorts of different elements going on. There are the weights in one hand, the pirate jacket and the mask. All together, this is one Cool Cat we wouldn’t want to get into a fight with!

HouseHunt: kww5246

Unlike BoboDonus, kww5246 is a newcomer to the House Hunt stage. This Cool Cat has decorated quite a cozy little abode with a guest room and a main play space. This guest room is still rocking a pretty cool winter theme, with a snowy background and items from the Ski Resort collection. The room is small, too, which helps us get into that cozy mindset. That’s another thing for you cats to think about: size matter. When you’re planning a room, choose the room size that’s the best fit for what you want to create!

In kww5246’s larger, main room, we see a really cool color combination that I wasn’t sure would work at first, but it totally does. Bright pink walls bounce off a cool, sage-colored floor patter. Because of the bluish green tint of the diamonds in the wall, the floor totally blends in.

We also like seeing the Hollywood sign above the door. With one look of door available in HandiLand, it’s sometimes a struggle to fit it into your design scheme. Here, kww5246 puts some wood furniture around the door to make it blend in and the Hollywood sign over it, which makes us expect something fabulous on the other side! HouseHunt: BoboDonut

We’re big fans of BoboDonut around here. There’s already a Catwalk article with Bobo’s name on it. But we’re impressed again after checking out the house.

What we especially love here are the creative partitions — or walls — between rooms. In this one main room that you can see above, there are tons of divisions between areas. And each area within the bigger room feels like its own space.

In another room in the BoboDonut mansion, we see a pink party place done up with purple, yellow and other fun, festive colors. We especially love the Party table with the makeup cases on it. Looks like we’ll be having a slumber party in here! Wahoo! Until next time, we’ll be House Hunting!

Red, Black and Yellow

Another one of our Cool Cats decided to try on some goth glam flare with this black and red outfit. And just like our last Catwalk winner, carissa3 decided to match it with blond hair and lighten the look up.

She also included and adorable puppy to take away some of the heaviness of the dark colors. With this outfit, we can see her going off to a dance or a party and having a great time.

It’s fancy enough to make her feel special when she wears it but cool enough to be practical. Today, we had kind of a goth theme going. I wonder where the Cool Cats in HandiLand will take us next week?

Goth Glam

Kaitlyn Kitty makes a statement with her perfectly planned and coordinated outfit. She’s got the beautiful white tutu dress to go with her blond hair, but then everything else about her is more Hot Topic than “a night at the ballet.”

Since the dress is only a top item, she was able to match it with plaid pants and black shoes for the ultimate mix of goth and punk. She didn’t stop there! She also added hair with a black crown included and black makeup to finish off the look.

This style has individuality, a really clear message and took a lot of creativity. We love it!

Greek Sailor Joins The Plundarr

It may be time for the old “heave ho!” as the Plundarr stretches its sails and sets out for a short jaunt around the seven seas. Captain Ironhook has been in HandiLand harbor for so long, he can’t wait to get his sea legs under him again.

And don’t worry about the Pancake Skipparr, the restaurant aboard the Plundarr down at the Beach Harbor. A replica of the ship will remain docked, serving up enough delicious pancakes and breakfast food to keep all of HandiLand happy.

When I first heard that Captain Ironhook was heading back to sea, I had to ask him for myself. “Nah, Gossip Queen, you hearrrrd wrong. I’m not setting out to sea, no way,” he said.

“Oh no?” I double checked my notes. All the rumors I’d heard recently were of him packing up ship and heading out of port. “Isn’t the Plundarr leaving, then?”

“The Plundarr’s leaving, aye, but I won’t be on it no moarrrrr.”

“Why not?”

“I’m an old pirate, matey. I want to retiarrrr somewhere sandy and nice, right by the watarrr. I guess this beautiful beach in HandiLand has made me a bit of a land lubarrrrrr.”

“Oh, that’s nothing to be ashamed of.” I thought back to all the times I completely turned green as soon as boarding a boat of any kind. “Not everyone’s got sea legs to stand on.” But I knew that Captain Ironhook loved the Plundarr more than anything. “Who’s going to lead your crew out on the water?”

“Wouldn’t you believe it, we found a sailor, right from Greece. He’s parrrrrfect. Got lots of expearrreance.”

“That’s great.”

“He’s going to take the Plundarr to Greece and bring back olives. Chef Pierre is gonna pay me plenty for that booty!”

“Oooh, the Diner is going to have some great Mediterranean fare now, eh?”

“Yarr, there ain’t nothin’ betarrr.”

Speaking of which, I’ve got a hankering for some hummus.That’s all for meow!
