Get the Info You Need… Fast!
November 13, 2008
Some very perceptive Cool Cats have already been asking us what that blue button above other Cats’ heads is. Well, here’s the very simple answer. This button appears above a Cat’s head if you hover your mouse over them. Clicking on this button will immediately take you to their profile!
Now there’s no need to click on your Friends button and then Cats in Room to see what kind of stuff they have, challenge them to a game or add them as a friend. All those options pop up right away when you click on the cool new blue button.

It totally worked for us. We were sucked in and immediately had this great carnival and amusement park feeling. It really looks like Princess Catrose is a super duper Cool Cat to hang out with.

Now this is why we’re glad we have such creative Cool Cats up in HandiLand! This is something we haven’t seen before and Cool Cat genius Caribbeanone rocks it. We’ve already featured her in the House Hunt column… what else can this creative chick come up with?
We love this outfit because she dresses down a cute party dress with jeans and rocker boots. Not to mention the awesome biker background behind her! This outfit can go from fancy and dressed up for dinner to totally casual for school. And that’s how you end up in Cool Cats Magazine twice!
Celebrity Chef Bakes Cool Cake
November 1, 2008
There’s a whole slew of celebrity chefs these days, and Chef Pierre, our very own HandiLand chef, recently competed in the HandiLand Cake Bowl contest. His mission? The best Cupcake Cake in the world. That means the best cupcake batter in the cake, the best cupcake frosting all over it and, voila! A cupcake on top!
I was lucky enough to be there at the Cupcake Cake Bake-off this past weekend. And I’ve got huge news! Chef Pierre won!!! He beat out twelve other hopeful chefs and made the best Cupcake Cake in all of HandiLand.
“Oh, mais oui! I am tres, tres excited!” he told me right after his big win.
“Huh?”
“Oh, sacre bleu! Zat means zat I am very, very, very thrilled to be ze big winner today!”
I could hardly listen to him, I had my eyes trained right on that ginormous Cupcake Cake. “That’s great, now, what kind of frosting did you say was on here?”
“Mais, le chocolate, bien sur!”
“Huuuuuh?”
“Chocolate!” Chef Pierre arched an eyebrow at me from under his crisp, starched white toque.
“And, what kind of cake is under all that gooey, yummy, fluffy chocolate frosting?”
“Le chocolate aussi!”
I’m not from Australia so I wasn’t quite sure why he was calling me an Aussie, but it didn’t matter. “And, what kind of people get to, uh, sample, this very yummy-looking award-winning cake?”
I think Chef Pierre finally understood what I was getting at. After the cameras were off and most of the crowd went home, the good Chef pulled me aside.
“Voila,” he said again, sliding a plate across his counter with one huge slice of chocolate Cupcake Cake on it.
And it was so good, Cool Cats! So delicious! The chocolate cake was moist and rich, with a velvety chocolate flavor. And the frosting! Oh, somebody stop me! The frosting was thick and melted on my tongue in little sugar crystals. Meeeeeeeeeeee-oooooooooooooow!
That’s all for meow cats and kittens, I’m going to go get myself a cupcake to tide me over until the next time I can sample one of Chef Pierre’s purrrrfect creations.
XOXO

Vacuuming That Doesn’t Suck
November 1, 2008
Vacuuming is one of those things that not many kids like to do. Well, if you’ve got to do it, here’s how to do it right:
- Search the area you’ll be vacuuming really well. You’re looking for staples, nails, thumbtacks, bobby pins, silverware and any tiny metal things on the carpet or on the floor. These things could get all caught up in the vacuum and become a problem.
- Same thing with wires. Check the floor you’ll be vacuuming for headphone wires, electrical wires, especially TV and electronics wires. Once these get sucked into the vacuum, you’ll have to turn it upside down and unwind the wire, which can be pretty tedious. Expensive items like TVs and headphones could get ruined by getting their cords sucked into a vacuum.
- If you’ve got pets, you won’t pick up all the hair stuck in the carpet in one pass. If you’ve got tons of hair in your carpet, vacuum a few times. Make sure to look at the bottom of the vacuum when you’re done and pick out the clumps of hair that will get caught in the brushes there.
Good luck! Take these tips to heart and next time your vacuuming won’t suck!
